The Aglaonema, or Chinese Evergreen, is an aroid native to tropical and subtropical regions from southeast Asia to New Guinea. In its natural habitat it grows in the understory canopies of rainforests. Aglaonema is an excellent houseplant for beginners just starting an indoor plant hobby collection. It is extremely easy to grow and can thrive in a variety of environments from low to brightly lit rooms. Aglaonema are compact slow growing cultivars with lush foliage and come in a variety of unique and striking patterns and color combinations. They make great additions to your home décor and help clean and purify your air.
Light: Medium indirect light. Mild dappled or filtered sun. No direct sun.
Watering: Water weekly or when the top of the soil is dry to about 1” down.
Humidity: Low to moderate, average indoor humid climate.
Temperature: Grows best in temps between 65° to 85° F. Cannot go below 50° F.
Soil: Well draining aerated soil. Potting mix with added Perlite. Fertilize monthly during the spring and summer with a balanced organic fertilizer.
